Three reporting modes

The GPS-512MD3-Max balances continuous security with power management. You choose the mode for each unit from the tracking platform.

Default Mode

The factory setting, for inventory. The unit stays in a low-power state and sends a fixed check-in 2 times a day (every 12 hours).

Dealer Mode

For lot management and routine tracking. Parked, the unit stays in a low-power state and checks in 2 times a day. When it detects motion it switches to live tracking, one report every 5 minutes while moving.

Recovery Mode (stolen or missing assets)

When an asset is reported stolen or missing, switch on Recovery Mode from the platform. It gives recovery teams a live location: every 5 minutes while moving and 2 times a day while parked. It tracks like Dealer Mode, with two differences:

How Recovery Mode differs

  • It switches back to Default Mode after 72 hours, or when you cancel it.
  • You can receive Recovery Mode alerts. Dealer Mode has no alerts.

Good to know. Battery life depends on the reporting mode and how often the unit moves. Steps may change with new hardware; the current guide is always at gpsleaders.com.
